Ayo Fayose Again?
Ayo Fayose |
The Afao Ekiti Born politician and businessman has been making serious moves since he returned to the Peoples Democratic Party last to woo people to his side and support his ambition to return to the government house.
Dr Fayose who has been moving from ward to ward in Ekiti has also been holding meeting with some leaders of the party and beg for forgiveness of sins from those he might have offended.
Various pressure group including Ekiti Progressive Elite, has been calling on the him to contest the governorship election coming up in the state in 2014.
The Ekiti Progressive Elitegroup, led by Chief Gbade Ademuwagun, rose from a meeting in Ado-Ekiti sometimes ago decalared their unflinching support for Fayose and urge him to declare his ambition without delay.
Chief Ademuwagun, a retired teacher in Ekiti State, said that since the departure of Fayose in October 2006, the state had not witnessed meaningful development.
In his words,’’since Fayose was illegally removed from office by some people in October 2006, the state has remained in darkness; nothing is working. Now, the state has been grounded by the ACN-controlled government and only Fayose can bring life back to the state.”
The group stated that most of the infrastructual facilities in the state were started and completed by the administration of Fayose, saying that the Ekiti people were yearning for more.
While some members of the PDP saw his coming as a blessing to the party because of his political influence, some said that his return will not do the party any good but rather cause confusion and distraction which may make the party to loose again.
The former governor who turned 52 years this week in an interview granted to a National daily said those he has helped to become governorn no longer pick his call. He is so sure of winning election as he said that he is going there to correct the wrongs but the question on the lips of everybody is can Fayose make it to that seat again? will PDP or any party will want to adopt him as gubernatorial candidate? lets wait till then.
