Mimiko swears-in new Akoko Southwest council boss

Following the demise of the former caretaker committee chairman of Akoko SouthWest Local Government, Lady Opeyemi Adefarati, Ondo State Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko on Wednesday sworn-in a new interim caretaker chairman, Hon Michael Arise to run the affairs of the council.

Hon. Arise, a former councillor in the local government area, was advised to carry everybody along in running the affairs of the council in order to sustain the prevailing peace in the area.

Mimiko tasked the new council boss to eschew factional competition and promote unity among the people of the Area.

The Governor expressed optimism in the capability of the council boss to provide purposeful leadership and deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.

He said: "I want to implore you to do everything possible in order to bring your people together. You must shun factional competition among your people. I know you as an experienced politician who will add values to the lives of your people."

The new council boss, Hon. Michael Arise in his remarks, promised not to disappoint the Governor and the entire people of the Local Government Area

He also assured that he would make self sacrifice to transform the nooks and crannies of Akoko SouthWest Local Government Area
